Coaches
Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot
Jerzy brings a decade of experience in cross country and track and field to STRIVE Racing. As a collegiate athlete at Tufts University, Jerzy was seldom healthy but never questioned his drive or love of the sport. He was a multiple-time qualifier for NESCAC, ECAC and New England Championships in all three seasons and was a member of the 2007 XC squad that competed at the National Championships. In his time as an athlete, Jerzy also dedicated himself to learning more about the sport, studying exercise physiology and constantly reading the latest on the science of distance running. His dedication as a student of the sport earned him a spot as a full-time distance coach the year after his graduation, while studying to earn a degree from Tufts’ Master of Public Health. Jerzy is currently working for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in New York City; he will be one of the primary coaches for the NYC group as well as providing online coaching support for athletes from outside of NYC.
Luke Maher
Luke is a 2013 graduate of Tufts University and has been worked with STRIVE in Iten, Kenya since its inception. As an East African history major at Tufts, Luke spent many summers working with STRIVE and travelling in East Africa and performing community service. Though he faced more than his share of adversity while a collegiate athlete, Luke was multiple-time competitor at conference and regional championships at Tufts, as well as devoting himself to the study of coaching and physiology, earning an assistant coaching position with the Tufts program. Since graduating, Luke has moved from Tufts to Amherst College, where he has been working as a full-time assistant cross country and track. He will have a managerial and coaching role for the NYC group as well as providing online coaching support for athletes from outside of NYC.
